Bolangir: Unidentified miscreants on Thursday allegedly looted Rs 26.6 lakh at gunpoint from Pravakar Mishra, Ranger in-charge of Bolangir Kendu Leaf Division on NH-201 near Kusmi Nullah in Loisinga near here.

The cash was withdrawn from the main branch of State Bank of India here for disbursement of salaries to its employees.

Mishra was carrying the cash bag in an office vehicle with the driver Prafulla Panda when two motorbike-borne unknown persons stopped the vehicle and put a revolver on his head and fled with the money.

"Immediately they informed the Loisinga police station and all the routes connecting Bolangir and Loisinga had been sealed," Additional Superintendent of Police Srikanta Mishra said.
