RPF arrests fake Parliamentarian

Bhubaneswar: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Monday arrested a man on charges of impersonation and for trying to mislead them by claiming himself to be an MP, police said.

The arrested man identified as Jitendra Sahu allegedly called RPF inspector Barun Kumar Behera posing himself as BJD MP Siddharth Mohapatra in order to release an auto driver. The RPF had earlier arrested an auto-driver for breaking rules in Railway Station Limit here.

"After getting a call from Sahu, I cross-checked with MP Mohapatra and came to know that the caller was not the real person. Sahu was asked to come to RPF station at the railway station where he was arrested," the RPF inspector said.

Claiming innocence, Sahu on the other hand said that though he requested RPF to release his auto-driver friend, he had not claimed himself as an MP.
