Rebels set ablaze police outpost in Kandhamal
Phulbani: In a pre-dawn attack, armed Maoists set afire a police outpost at Subarnagiri under Kotagada police limits in Kandhamal district on Thursday.
As per reports, around 50 heavily armed rebels, including women, went on a rampage and ransacked the police outpost.
The ultras set afire the building before disappearing into the contiguous forest shouting slogans against security forces and anti-naxal operations. However, no casualty was reported after the onslaught.
According to sources, the Maoists could have launched the offensive protesting against construction of new police buildings meant for security forces in the police outpost campus.
