Ghaziabad: Former BJP president and MP Rajnath Singh has blamed the UPA government`s policies for rising inflation and increasing poverty in the country.

"The Union government formed wrong policies in economic and financial sectors which has hampered the growth of poor section of the society but proved beneficial for financially strong families," he said.

Singh who held meetings in Loni and Muradnagar last night under the programme `Chopal` also heard the problems of farmers and weaker section of the society from the remote areas.

Assuring construction of roads under his MP development funds Singh said, the UPA-led government at the Centre has totally failed to provide jobs and education to youths belonging to poor families which has resulted in increase in poverty.
