Thiruvananthapuram: Noted artist and art teacher C L Porinchukutty has been selected for the Kerala government`s prestigious Raja Ravi Varma Puruaskaram this year in recognition of "his outstanding contribution to art and culture."

Announcing the award, Culture Minister K C Joseph said the award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh and a citation. The judging committee headed by Lalitha Kala Acadamy Chairman K A Francis, selected Porinchukutty for the award.
