As the campaign for the Pipili bypoll is all set to begin from tomorrow (September 20), the three major political parties in the State are ready with their plans and agenda to woo voters.
From conducting meetings to chalking out plans to outplay each other in the campaign, political parties like BJP, BJD and Congress are up for a fierce fight for the Assembly seat.
Speaking on the party agenda after a meeting at Harirajpur, Gotiput, Matiapada Panchayats under the Delang block, BJD candidate Rudra Pratap Maharathy said, “We discussed ways to strengthen our party at the grassroots level. I hope BJD will performs well in this election.”
Shruti Pattnaik, Chairperson of Mahila Morcha, Odisha BJP said, “The BJP leaders and members will go into the election with the same vigour like before. The ever increasing violence against women in Odisha will be the main issue for us in this election.”
Congress Bishwokeshan Harichandan Mohapatra was also seen holding party meetings in Dhanakera and Abhayamukhi Panchayats under the Delang block. The party is hopeful of grabbing the Pipili seat.
A total of 10 candidates are in the fray for the bypoll which was earlier postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Congress candidate Ajit Mangaraj.
The by-election to the Pipili Assembly Constituency, which was necessitated following the death of sitting MLA Pradeep Maharathy in October last year, will be held on September 30, and the counting of votes will take place on October 3.
