Senior BJP leader Mohan Majhi was sworn in as Chief Minister of Odisha at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. Majhi is now the first BJP chief minister of Odisha.
The new Cabinet comprises 16 Ministers, including the CM and two deputy CMs. As per the list shared by the Raj Bhavan, eight Cabinet Ministers and five Minister of State (Mos) took oath during the ceremony. Mohan Majhi and his ministerial colleagues were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Raghubar Das.
A large number of dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh and Chief Ministers of several states including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the ceremony.

Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, BJP National VP Baijayant Panda, Union Ministers Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan and other eminent personalities from the state were also present on the occasion.
Hundreds of party workers and activists from different parts of the State also attended the ceremony.

Senior BJP leader and Ranpur MLA Surama Padhy has been appointed as the new Speaker of Odisha Assembly.
Taking to X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “ It’s a historic day in Odisha! With the blessings of my sisters and brothers of Odisha, @BJP4Odisha is forming its first-ever government in the state. I attended the swearing-in ceremony in Bhubaneswar. Congratulations to Mohan Charan Majhi on taking oath as CM and to Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo as well as Pravati Parida on taking oath as Deputy CMs. Congratulations also to the others who took oath as Ministers.”
PM Modi further wrote, “ With the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, I am confident this team will usher in record development in Odisha and improve the lives of countless people.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the new Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi wrote, “With the blessings of Lord Jagannath and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 'Developed Odisha' will be formed. The hopes and aspirations of 4.5 crore Odia people will be fulfilled.”
Deputy CM Pravati Parida said, “I am an ordinary karyakarta and I thank my leaders for entrusting the responsibility of Deputy CM. Being a woman, I will focus on women security and implementation of the Subhadra Yojana.”
BJP National Vice-President and newly-elected Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda said, “Today is the beginning of a new era. From today, the formation of a new Odisha has started. Odisha will now get connected with double-engine and there will be development at a much faster pace. I thank the people of Odisha and extend my wishes to Odisha CM Mohan Majhi and his team.”
After taking oath as Cabinet Minister, Suresh Pujari said, “It is a historic day as BJP government has been formed. It is a unique experience as being an ordinary karyakarta, I took oath as Cabinet Minister in the presence of PM Modi and other senior leaders.”
According to Pujari, the BJP will serve the people of the state in the best possible manner and uphold the Odia Asmita.
Suryabanshi Suraj, who took oath as Minister of State (Independent charge) said, "It is not a post, rather a responsibility. We will now work for the people and fulfil the assurances made in our Sankalp Patra.”
