Odisha CM rates PM Modi 8 out of 10 for his foreign policy & anti-corruption stance

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and rated him 8 out of 10 for his outstanding foreign policy and work towards eradication of corruption in the country.

Speaking during the Odisha Literary Festival (OLF) 2023, CM Naveen said he would rate PM Modi 8 out of 10 because of 'what he has done for foreign policy and also in various other matters, and also there has been less corruption in this (BJP) government'.

"He (PM Modi) helped in rooting out corruption and also trying his very best to serve the people of our country," said the Chief Minister.

On the Women's Reservation Bill, Patnaik said, "I think it's a very important step. My party has always been there for the development of women. My father began it by reserving 33 per cent of the seats in the local elections and we have increased that to 50 per cent..."

Extending his support to 'One Nation, One Election', the Odisha CM said, "We have always welcomed it, we are prepared for elections for both bodies at any time." 

On his government's relationship with the Centre, Patnaik said, "We have a cordial relationship with the Centre. Naturally, we want the development of our state and it's important to have the centre's partnership in the development."

Sharing his views on politics, CM Naveen said that politics need not be dirty as it can be a great platform for serving the people. He further said that his government has been dedicatedly working towards eradication of poverty and all-round development of the state.
