It seems the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in action mode following the party top leaders’ assertion that the party would form government in Odisha by fighting the elections on its own.
As a part of the party’s strategy to implement Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s words on the ground, four union ministers-Ashwini Vaishnaw, Arjun Munda, Bishweswar Tudu and Ashwini Coubey-took classes of elected members of Panchayats and Zilla Parishads at a two-day-long workshop organised at Konark on Sunday.
They were taught the technique of how to corner the BJD-led government and prepare the blueprint for the coming general elections.
“The poor people’s money collected as taxes is being misappropriated. We want the cent percent utilization of the money being sent by Modiji. If our party comes to power, the state will witness the development what it has not seen in 25 years,” said state BJP President Manmohan Samal.
Sharing his experience, Puri Zilla Parishad member Pramod Ray said, “The union ministers gave us some important tips. Most importantly, they made it clear that there will be no alliance with the BJD.”
“We will bring the panchayat-level corruption of the BJD to the fore and corner the party, “said Boudh Zilla Parishad member Rakesh Tripathy.
At a time when the party workers were in a state of confusion following Naveen-Shah meet and the BJD’s support to the central government in the Parliament, the workshop will help end their confusion.
“There should be no such confusion. If the confusion is not addressed, the party’s 30 percent vote base would get destroyed,” observed political analyst Rabi Das.
