Bhubaneswar: The poster war between BJP and BJD at Covid vaccination centres across Odisha took a new turn today after BJP MP and party national spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi targeted the BJD-led State government over display of only Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s photographs on banners at vaccination sites.
She termed the publicity move as a sign of ‘insecurity and narrow mindedness’.
In a tweet, the Bhubaneswar MP said it’s a general courtesy that the Prime Minister’s photograph should be displayed along with the CM on the banners at inoculation centres.

She said the Odisha government sought the Centre’s support after failing to procure vaccines and the Centre also came to the rescue of the State during the time of need.
“Basic courtesy demands that PM Modi's photo with CM's photo are put up at all Vaccination points by State Govt,” she tweeted.
Reacting to Sarangi, BJD MP Sasmit Patra said that BJD has never made it an issue like others over photo of PM on vaccination certificate.
“It is petty and shameful to do politics out of this. I am afraid you may be insecure about your political relevance and doing this narrow minded politics,” Patra tweeted.
The war between the two Parliamentarians on twitter comes in the backdrop of a series of agitations staged by the BJP at several places over the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photographs in the vaccination drivr posters.
The BJP activists had on Tuesday tore off the posters at several places in the State and displayed the PM’s photo prominently.
