Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and party's nominee for the Mayoral elections to Cuttack Municipal Elections, Subash Singh has emerged as the richest among all candidates in fray for the post.
Among the three major political parties’ candidates, who have filed nomination papers for the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Mayoral post, Subash has emerged as the richest candidate as per the submitted declaration forms.
In his declaration of assets filed with nomination papers, Subash has mentioned that he owned a total property worth over Rs 5 crore. He has bank deposits, insurance cover and investment bonds worth around Rs 76,76,689. While his spouse’s bank balance, insurance cover and investment bonds is valued at Rs 4,58,54,599, Subash’s immovable assets are worth Rs 77,1996. He owes bank loan of around Rs 6,00,000.
Likewise, Congress candidate Giribala Behera has claimed of owning bank deposits, insurance cover and investment bonds worth Rs 20,50,000 and immovable assets worth Rs 75,00,000. Her husband owns properties worth Rs 95,00,000.
BJP candidate Sritam Das comes third on the property list of major party candidates in the elections with bank deposits, insurance cover and investment bonds valued Rs 33,66,000. His wife also has bank deposits, insurance cover and investment bonds worth Rs 13, 68,000 in her name.
While, Sritam has immovable properties worth Rs 41,90,000, the properties in his wife’s name worth Rs 4,85,000. As per the declaration, Sritam owes bank loan of Rs 44,50,000.
