Youth activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposed MLA Samir Ranjan Dash's visit and showed him black flags in the Nimapara constituency on Saturday. This allegedly infuriated the members of the Biju Yuva Vahini, who attacked the BJP youth activists. Several BJP activists were reportedly injured in the attack.
As per reports, the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme was being organised at Ebaranga panchayat under the Gop block. Nimapara legislator, Samir Ranjan Dash was attending the programme. Workers of the BJP Yuva Morcha shouted slogans and waved black flags at the MLA who was on his way to the programme.

The agitating BJP members reportedly demanded justice for Dharmendra Sahoo, a zilla parishad member, who allegedly committed suicide while holding the legislator responsible.
The president of the Gop unit of the BJP Yuba Morcha, Shivaprasad Swain, alleged, “Since the death of Zilla Parishad member Dharmendra Sahoo, BJP Yuva Mocha has been staging protests demanding justice for him. Our activists showed black flags to Samir Dash for his involvement. But the legislator is not being brought under the purview of investigation.”
He added that Biju Yuba Vahini activists, who have cases pending against them, attacked him and some other activists in the presence of police.
No comments were received from the Biju Yuba Vahini and police.
