PM Narendra Modi-led BJP government has finally brought 'acche din' (good days) in Odisha and will soon form government in this land of Lord Jagannath, said Home Minister on Monday while addressing the Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery book release event at Bhubaneswar.
“Many extraordinary things have been achieved by the BJP in the leadership of Narendra Modi. It used to be said that BJP is a party of the Hindi belt. But, BJP has formed governments in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and also the states of North East. Soon Odisha will have BJP govt too,” Shah said at an event in Bhubaneswar.
"Earlier there was a perception that BJP was a party of businessmen and jewellers. But, now our party has the most number of Dalit legislators,” he added.
“To become a Modi, you have to leave behind your family and work for the betterment of 130 crore Indians,” he further stated.
“A person who had never become a ward member or sarpanch, became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Now, he is the Prime Minister of the Country. Winning the hearts of millions of Indians, he is now the most loved personality,” Shah said.
“During his tenure, he has brought an abrupt end to Dynasty Politics (Parivarbad), Appeasement Politics and Corruption. He has made a Dalit lawyer the President of India and can do wonders. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Central government in association with the Odisha government is making all efforts for the development of the state,” he concluded.
Earlier, he attended the 75th anniversary of an Odia daily newspaper in Cuttack and said that 'acche din' (good days) has arrived in Odisha with people from the state occupying top posts in the country like never before.
Justifying his statement, he said Draupadi Murmu, born in a poor tribal family of the state, is now the "Mahamahim Rashtrapati".
"Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and MoS Bishweswar Tudu are also from Odisha," he said.
"Odisha had never got such high representation since independence," Shah said.
