The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on its course to register a massive win in the Municipal Board Elections in Assam. Party’s National Vice President and state in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda has hailed the achievement. 

As per reports, the counting of votes which were polled at 977 wards in 80 Municipalities of Assam, is presently underway. Latest trends from the Election Commission suggest that candidates of the saffron party are leading in 548 Wards. While the Congress is ahead in 61 Wards, candidates from other parties altogether are in front in 125 Wards.
