The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will one day win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, said Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai during a press conference in Cuttack on Saturday. Rai is in Odisha on a two-day visit.

"The BJP is getting stronger in Odisha with each passing day. From 1, we have now won eight seats. In the coming days, we may win from eight to 16 and 16 to 20. We may also win all 21 seats," he said.

“As many as 39,73,000 farmers of Odisha are receiving Rs 6,000 each in a year under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Under this, a total of Rs 7,118 crore rupees have been disbursed,” he said.

Referring to the installation of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s statue at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, Rai said, “Two days ago PM Narendra Modi inaugurated a life-size statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The country had been waiting for this. The people of Odisha should take note of this historical work.”

“Today I am in Cuttack. And since Cuttack is the birthplace of Netaji Bose, I have had the opportunity to pay obeisance to such a leader’s birthplace. The city produced a leader who infused a mantra of patriotism among the people. He prepared lakhs of patriots with his inspirational dialogue, ‘Give me blood, I will give you freedom.’ Netaji’s valour and his deeds played a great role in achieving independence. The country will go on receiving inspiration from the statue the PM has inaugurated in New Delhi,” he added.

“Since assuming office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been striving to see the poor also live happily, their family members should also get treatment facility, farmers’ earning should increase by two times, all should have own house with toilets and electricity, roads in both rural and urban areas should be in good condition, facilities should also be made available to the youths busy at the border, country’s military power should increase, the country should be self-dependent and production should increase,” he said, adding that because of his (the PM) efforts, Modi has become the most popular leader in the world.
