Even though the Lok Sabha elections are still over a year away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up on the organisational front.
It seems as if the saffron party has taken a vow to make Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister and dethrone the ruling Biju Janata Dal government in Odisha. That is why it has already planned to launch Vijay Sankalp Abhiyan across Odisha from March 10 to March 17.
BJP’s National President Jagat Prakash Nadda took a dig at Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government during his visit to Tumudibandha in Kandhamal district and Puri district on Wednesday. Nadda is likely to visit Odisha in the coming days to ensure party's victory in the upcoming general elections.
Prithviraj Harichandan, General secretary of the state unit of BJP, said, “It is clear that BJP has already blown the 2024 election bugle in Odisha. We are ready with Vijay Sankalp Abhiyan to get victory in the general elections and assembly elections. And 2024 election results will reflect this. There is a need to change the government in Odisha and 2024 elections will make this happen.”
He went on to add: “National President of BJP has multiple Programmes in Odisha in coming days. For the first time, Nadda visited Kandhamal and Puri Parliamentary constituencies. Besides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah will tour Odisha to strengthen the party’s base ahead of general elections. Thus, it is clear that BJP is ready to make a scathing attack on ruling government ahead of polls.”
Reacting to BJP leader’s statement, BJD leader Muna Khan said “Be it politics or ancient wars, ‘Senapati’ always plays a pivotal role. BJP’s ‘senapati’ Nadda who visited Odisha was defeated in his own constituency. When he failed to ensure BJP’s win in his own constituency, is it possible on his part to make BJP win in Odisha? Being a national party, BJP leaders of Odisha keep inviting Union Ministers as part of its election strategy to get votes. But frequent visit of Union Ministers will make no impact in Odisha.”
