Bangalore: Despite the widespread use of internet and social media such as Facebook, people are far more lonely today than they were 10-15 years go, according to Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne. Inaugurating the 51st annual conference of Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) here today, he said pressure on time and stress, among others, are taking their toll on the people.

"Relationships are breaking up. We have a large number of divorce cases", he said on the trend which is true around the world. The Air Chief Marshal also said the IAF is on a fast-paced transformation phase acquiring full spectrum of strategic capability.

More than 200 delegates, including 25 from overseas, are attending the three-day conference at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM) here where they would discuss advancement in the field of aerospace medicine.

An ISAM statement said its members would be providing aeromedical consultancy to India`s proposed manned space mission. "IAM is a significant partner in Indian space venture", said Director General Medical Service and Director of ISAM, Air Marshal D P Joshi.
