Achieving a name and fame is what everyone dreams of. Though it is unpredictable what life is destined for, many break the stereotype to shine and set examples. Moreover, there are some others who despite unaware of what is destined for them in life, emerge from nowhere to shine like stars.
Here we bring the story of two such Indians who never would have thought in their dreams about such a bright future in which they dazzled like a star from nowhere and become an overnight sensation on different social media platforms.
We, regularly come across several people, whom we tend to ignore. The list includes street vendors, labourers, beggars, rag pickers, etc. Even after interacting with such people for a few moments, no one remembers their face or appearance; in such circumstances, the hidden beauty within them gets overlooked.
Small town balloon seller turned model
Kisbu, a small-town girl from Kerala sustained her life by selling balloons. At a very young age, Kisbu lost her father after which she was forced to sell balloons for survival for her family along with her mother. She faced several hardships in her life until wedding photographer Arjun Krishnan spotted her in the streets of Andalur during the Andalur Kavu festival.
The photographer quickly took a few pictures of the teenager and approached Kisbu and her mother. He showed them the pictures only to find them delighted. Later, he posted one of the pictures on Instagram and the response was unexpected. The picture soon went viral online paving her way to star in a photoshoot.
After Kisbu's family agreed to the photoshoot, makeup artist Remya Prajul started working on her transformation. Sharing her experience, Remya said that the makeover began at 4 am. Kisbu underwent manicure, pedicure and facial during her makeover session. Kisbu was styled in a traditional kasavu saree and her ensembles included gold jewelleries with simple red bangles. The makeover image even received an overwhelming response.

Mammika, a 60-year-old daily wage labourer of Kerala was first spotted by fashion photographer Shareek Vayalil. Soon after the photographer shared a photo on Instagram , stars of the man, who used to wear a lungi and shirt, changed.
After the overwhelming response, the photographer decided to go for a full-blown photoshoot after giving a sleek makeover. Vayalil also shared a video capturing the makeover process of Mammika. The video starts with showing Mammika walking through the streets carrying vegetables in his usual style- lungi and shirt. He later transforms into a stylish and smart guy after the makeover.
There are numerous examples from across the world when creative persons identify the hidden beauty and take the risk of bringing them in front of the world in a different get-up. The same person who is ignored grabs attention once the public focuses their attention on him/her. It is the eyes that explore the beauty and it is the heart that realises it. When both these combine, it can bring a much-needed change in the society and help such people from the 'rags' to create a different identity in the society.
