Youth goes missing while bathing in Mahanadi

A youth went missing while taking a bath in the Mahanadi River in Cuttack on Thursday. 

As per reports, the youth along with six others from the Kaligali area came to the Naraj barrage. Two of them jumped into the river near Kaibarta Sahi for bathing. One of them, identified as Chandan Sethi, drowned. Locals saved the other from drowning. The incident took place at around 2 pm.

On being informed, police and Fire Services personnel from Barang launched a search operation for the missing youth. Till the time of filing of this report, the missing youth was not traced even after three hours of search operation.  

The family members of the missing youth were on the river bank while two teams were still carrying out the search operation. 

No reaction was received from police and family members.
