Youth charged with murder in Odisha arrested from Surat

A youth has been arrested from Surat on Friday on the charges of murdering a man in Odisha.

The accused has been identified as Narayan Jena who is a resident of Arakhpur village in Ganjam district.

As per reports, the Surat Crime Branch arrested Jena from the Saroli area. Jena along with one of his associates allegedly murdered a youth in the Purusottampur area in the Ganjam district of Odisha on March 29, 2024.

Following an investigation into the incident, Odisha Police had arrested Jena’s associate. However, Jena absconded and managed to flee from the area to Surat. He has been working in a spinning mill in Surat since then.

With inputs from Intelligence and Odisha Police, the Surat Crime Branch eventually managed to arrest Jena.

As per sources, the Surat Crime Branch is likely to hand over Jena to Odisha Police soon.
