Tension has gripped the area in the aftermath of the young woman’s death. The victim’s family and local residents have alleged that she was raped and then forcibly poisoned, leading to her death. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination.

"The girl went out of her home around 7.30 pm to relieve herself and didn't return home. Her family members searched for her and found her lying near the road. Some miscreants have murdered her. She might have also been gang-raped, Stern action should be taken against the culprits," alleged a relative of the deceased.

Local villagers have demanded the immediate arrest and strict punishment of those responsible for the girl’s death. They expressed their outrage over the gruesome crime and called for justice.

Meanwhile, the Kosagumuda police have begun an investigation with the help of a scientific team and sniffer dogs. According to sources, a few local youths have been detained for questioning, though police have not released any official statement confirming the detentions.

The body of the victim has been reportedly sent to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy. The cause of death—whether it was rape followed by poisoning or strangulation—will be confirmed after the post-mortem report. Papadahandi SDPO Satyajit Kandankel stated that more details will be revealed after the investigation is complete.
