A visually-impaired Jajpur resident is now in the news for penning and singing lines on the 5T secretary to express his pains after not getting a house despite meeting the local block development officer.
The video of Prafulla Das wherein he can be heard singing his own-written poem on the 5T secretary and asking him to give him a house has gone viral. His song reflects his anguish of not getting a house despite his running from pillar to post.
In his song, he says the 5T secretary is visiting districts by air, spending lakhs of rupees. He asked while the 5T secretary was spending the money from the government treasury, would the money be exhausted if a house were provided to him. If the government has no money for him, he asks the 5T secretary to tell him how he should live without a house.
“I have received a patta from the district administration. And for a house, I have running from pillar to post. So far, I have visited the BDO office three to four times but to no avail. With no option left, I am now seeking alms from people to construct a house,” Prafulla said.
One year has since been passed, but he is yet to get a house. So now he is requesting the 5T secretary to give him a house.
In this regard, the district administration’s reactions couldn’t be obtained.
Recently, a four-year-old girl Sonaili Das had highlighted the problems her villagers faced while enacting a tribal woman’s role in front of invited guests on the occasion of the Independence Day ceremony in Koraput.
Following this, a team comprising Dasmantpur BDO, an assistant engineer, officials of the water and sanitation department, education department, livestock department and supply officials inspected Paduguda village and held a meeting with the villagers.
Then the BDO had said that he would take the matter up with the district Collector to solve the problems.
