Villagers shoot off 1000 letters to Odisha CM seeking permanent solution to flood 

The Dhanua River is the bane of thousands of people in four blocks of Puri district. Flood in the river occurs every three/four years, leaving them at the receiving end.

One thousand letters addressed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik were posted at Gop post office in Puri district. In the letters, the CM has been requested to take steps to end reoccurring flood situation in Gop block. 

Leaving all surprised, members of the Dhanua Flood Action Committee on Friday reached Gop post office with hundreds of postcards. Investigation revealed that the Dhanua River is the bane of thousands of people in four blocks of Puri district. Flood in the river occurs every three/four years, leaving them at the receiving end.
