Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at 10 different locations linked to Surjyamani Pattajoshi, Executive Officer (Municipal Engineer) of Jatni Municipality, Khordha, over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets to his known source of income. 

According to sources, the searches were carried out following search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

A team comprising nine Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), four Inspectors, 13 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff conducted the searches at multiple premises in Bhubaneswar, Jatni, Berhampur, and Ganjam. 

The locations being raided include:

  • Flat No. 301, Stalwart Pravati Mansion, Jagamara, Bhubaneswar.
  • Flat No. SM 302, 3rd floor, Sriram Mansion, Unit-III, Kharvel Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
  • Double-storeyed building at Plot No. 183/844, Panakalapalli, Berhampur.
  • Triple-storeyed building at Plot No. 844/2738, Mouza, Panakalapalli, Ankuli, Berhampur.
  • Paternal house of Sri Pattajoshi located at Paltasingh Street, Saroda, Ganjam.
  • House of his associate at Singipur, PS- Gangpur, Dist-Ganjam.
  • House of another associate at Gobindanagar, Ankuli, Berhampur.
  • House of a relative at Plot No. A/33, Sidhi Vihar, Jagamara, Bhubaneswar.
  • His office chamber at Jatni Municipality.
  • His official residence in Jatni.

The raids are underway as Vigilance officials scrutinise financial records and property documents. The officials of the anti-corruption agency are said to have laid their hands on many key documents and passbooks of the government officials during the search.
