Veteran freedom fighter from Odisha Nilamani Samal passes away at 102

As per reports, Samal suffered a brain haemorrhage on Wednesday night. Since then he was undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital. A special team of doctors was engaged in his treatment.

Eminent freedom fighter from Odisha Nilamani Samal passed away at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, on Saturday. He was 102. 

As per reports, Samal suffered a brain haemorrhage on Wednesday night. Since then he was undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital. A special team of doctors was engaged in his treatment.

However, he passed away on Saturday. Condolences have poured in from various quarters following his demise.   

Nilamani Samal was born at Balipadia under the Barchana block of Jajpur district. He was the president of the Odisha State Freedom Fighters’ Association. Samal was honoured by the President of India four times.
