Senior BJD legislator and former minister Arun Sahoo’s recent remarks have triggered widespread discussion amid the growing dissent within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Speaking at a Teachers' Day event organized in Bhubaneswar, Arun asserted that anyone can raise their voice and issue orders by showcasing authority and power. He added that proving one’s superiority by putting others down has become common practice.
Indirectly targeting certain coterie groups, Arun remarked that to achieve one’s objectives, they are choosing means irrespective of whether they are ethical or not, even resorting to self-sacrifice. However, deep inside the conscience, a sense of rebellion is ignited, he added.

Arun further mentioned that while articulating these points, a feeling of rebellion is burning within his mind. The key question now being discussed is who is being targeted by Sahoo's remarks-is it Pandian (former 5T Chairman VK Pandian) or someone else?
So far, neither Pandian nor the BJD leadership has issued any official response to Sahoo's comments, which are now stirring considerable political debate.
"To be simple is the most difficult affair. To give a simple smile, to take simple food, to lead a simple life is very difficult. Anyone can raise their voice and issue orders by showcasing authority and power. Proving one’s superiority by putting others down has become common practice. One may be a bigwig, but modesty is the real ornament. To achieve one’s objectives, they are choosing means irrespective of whether they are ethical or not, even resorting to self-sacrifice. However, deep inside the conscience, a sense of rebellion is ignited," said Sahoo.
"One may not speak his heart out. However, everybody knows who is good and who is bad. While analysing these things, a sense of rebellion is ignited in my mind. My decision is to unmask the persons who are responsible for the destruction of Odisha. I am also committed to starting a revolution to stop the destruction of Odisha," he added.
