Utkela-Bhubaneswar flight services to be available on Sundays 

In a piece of good news for fliers, IndiaOne Air will provide an additional flight service from Utkela airport, Kalahandi to Bhubaneswar on Sundays as well. 

IndiaOne Air on Saturday informed about the flight service on Sundays on its X handle. 

Earlier, the flight service was available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. From now onwards, the service will also be available on Sundays.

Notably, the Utkela airport, just 20 km from district headquarters in Bhawanipatna, was built in 1962 and it received DGCA approval for flight operations on August 7, 2023.

After getting the nod from the DGCA, the airport in the tribal-dominated district of Kalahandi welcomed its first flight from Bhubaneswar on August 31, 2023.

While the then Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the flight services virtually from Delhi and the then Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off the flight services from Bhubaneswar airport, the then Minister of Commerce & Transport Department, Tukuni Sahu became the first passenger to fly to Utkela from Bhubaneswar.
