Several members of Odisha Chhatra Congress staged a protest in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday alleging irregularities in the admission process at Utkal University.
Some protestors had a tussle with the police while they were staging demonstrations in front of the Raj Bhavan in the Capital City.
As per the allegation by the protesting Chhatra Congress members, a student with a lower rank has got admission in the varsity instead of a student with a ninth rank.
Terming the Vice-Chancellor and Odisha government responsible, they staged a sit-in before Raj Bhawan and shouted slogans against the State government and the Education Minister demanding justice.

As per reports, tension prevailed in the area when police tried to disperse the protestors. The protestors reportedly had a tussle with the police in the process.
However, no reactions were received from the government and the Vice-Chancellor of the University in this regard.
