The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the Civil Services Exam Result 2024.
Based on the result of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2024 held by the Union Public Service Commission in September, and the interviews for Personality Test held in January-April, 2025, the Commission has prepared the result.
Odisha’s Ritika Rath has secured All India Rank of 48 while Shakti Dubey has topped in the UPSC Civil Services Exam.
In an exclusive interview to OTV, Ritika Rath said, “To get this rank is grateful. It was my third attempt. Last year could not get any rank but cracked this year.”
24-year-old Ritika hails from Bhubaneswar and has completed her 11 and 12th education from Delhi. Later, she pursued BA foundations in Management from IIM Indore.
“Initially I had done a job and started preparations for UPSC after quitting my job,” she said.
Inspiration
According to Ritika, her father was the source of inspiration and the other IAS officers who are working hard and the impact they are bringing a positive change in the society.
“Seeing my father working hard had also inspired me a lot,”she said.
Interview Questions
During the interview rounds, Ritika said that she was asked broad questions including work experience and optional subjects like Philosophy.
However, one question about different states was bit a hard as I had not much information.
“My work experience gave me confidence and my optional subject was also my strength including my hobbies,” said Ritika adding that no questions were asked regarding Odisha.
According to Ritika, it was three years journey for her to crack the toughest exam.
Sacrifices Made
According to Ritika, she was not on social media. But she was connected with friends, but it gradually faded away. However, she used to socialise with friends and stayed away from social media completely.
Priority
“I want to become someone who is approachable to people. I will try to fulfil the goals of the government,”said Ritika.
Tips For Aspirants
“I had taken coaching during my second attempt in Bhubaneswar. I had prepared a schedule for studies and prepared a timetable by prioritising important things. This helped me to allocate time properly. I used to wake up at 5 am and prepare for the UPSC,” she added.
