UPSC 2nd topper IAS Animesh Pradhan gets Odisha cadre

Animesh Pradhan, who created history by securing an impressive AIR-2 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023, that too in his very first attempt, has been allotted Odisha cadre. Animesh is from Odisha and has been allotted the Home State cadre. 

Apart from Animesh, Prajnanandan Giri from Odisha, who secured 24th rank in the CSE 2023, has also been allotted the Home State cadre.

Animesh, during his visit to the OTV newsroom in April 2024 after the UPSC results were announced, said “It gives me immense happiness as it was a dream of my parents and it is a satisfying moment for me. I was clear from the beginning on what I wanted to do in life. My goal from class 5 or 6 was to become an IAS officer. When I was in 9th and 10th class, I had a clear-cut strategy that be it engineering or medical studies, I would prepare for the Civil Services by doing a job. Whatever career I chose, it was always on top of my mind to become an IAS officer."

Sharing his views on Odisha, Animesh said that the State is going through exciting times and there are lots of opportunities. He wants to ensure that the plans reach the targeted beneficiaries and there is empowerment of people.
