Tension flared up as the Rajdhani College campus turned into a battlefield on Tuesday. A violent clash broke out between two student groups, leaving at least two students injured.

According to reports, more than 20 students and outsiders stormed the campus and launched an attack. Several were reportedly left bloodied during the chaos.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the violence was triggered by a student group allegedly backed by a particular political party. Police have been informed, and security has been tightened on the campus to prevent further escalation.

Situation Tense At Utkal University

Earlier today, and not far from Rajdhani College, tension gripped the Utkal University campus (Vani Vihar) in Bhubaneswar as students gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor.

The agitation was over multiple demands, including the eviction of encroachments from the campus and the vacating of unauthorized quarters. Students also pressed for hostel facilities to be extended to those enrolled in self-financing courses.

Meanwhile, after evicting outsiders from illegally occupied hostels, Utkal University authorities turned their attention to encroached staff quarters on campus.

Operation Blue Star At Utkal University

Under Operation Blue Star, notices have been issued to individuals occupying staff quarters without authorisation, directing them to vacate immediately. Officials said all quarters must be cleared by tomorrow, failing which forcible eviction will be undertaken

Officials said the eviction is part of a broader effort to restore order on the campus and ensure that government facilities are used exclusively by eligible staff. Unauthorized occupation of both hostels and staff quarters has long been a concern for the university.

On the other hand, police clarified that eviction of nearby slums would take more time, as the procedure involves prior intimation to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), which will then serve notices to slum dwellers.
