Elderly man climbs atop Dadhinauti of Puri Srimandir, detained

In an unusual incident, an elderly man climbed atop Dadhinauti of Puri Srimandir on Wednesday.

The man has been identified as Balaram Moharana from Chhatrapur.

As per sources, he entered the temple premises through ‘Paschima Dwara’ and climbed atop the temple. Subsequently, he climbed down the temple safely.

According to the man, he got an order in his dream to touch ‘Patinapabana Bana’.

He was detained at Singhadwara police station for questioning.

“He is an elderly man. He was brought down after a lot of effort. He seems to be a bit nervous now. We will question him later,” said Puri SP Pinak Mishra.

Meanwhile, questions are being raised on how the man breached the three-tier security arrangement to climb atop the temple.
