Two of a family killed, three others critical in road mishap in Odisha

In a tragic road accident, two persons were killed and three others were critically injured on NH-16 near Jashotikiri in Bhandaripokhari area of Bhadrak on Sunday. 

The deceased have not been identified. However, the deceased and the injured persons belong to a family. The deceased persons are a girl and her father. The critically injured were said to be a woman, her mother-in-law and the driver of the car.

Preliminary reports said, they were travelling in a car from Goa to Howrah.

The car rammed into the protective wall along the road. Immediately after the accident, fire services personnel from Bhandaripokhari rescued all from the car. All five occupants were immediately rushed to a local hospital and then shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH).

However, two of them were pronounced dead on arrival. The injured are undergoing treatment at the DHH. Their condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the accident.
