The driver of a pickup van was killed after a truck hit the stationary van from behind on Vani Vihar flyover in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night.
The deceased pickup van driver has been identified as Arjun Aich.
The truck driver too sustained injuries in the mishap and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
As per reports, the pickup van was parked on the flyover by the driver to repair a flat tyre, when the truck rear-ended it.
Following the mishap, the traffic on the busy highway came to a standstill and it was eased only after the Saheed Nagar police reached the spot and cleared the debris from the road.
Traffic IIC, Manoj Satapathy said, “The driver of the pickup van was changing the rear tyre when the truck hit him from behind killing him on the spot."
The police have launched a probe in this connection.
