Tension prevailed near Gupti Ghat in Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district after locals detained a suspicious youth on Saturday.
According to sources, the youth was caught by villagers after he was found roaming around suspiciously in the area. Upon searching his bag, they were shocked to find a gun inside.
The identity of the youth and details about his place of origin are yet to be confirmed. However, eyewitnesses claimed that he was heard speaking in Bengali, raising further questions about his background and intent.
Many even suspect him to be a Bangladeshi. However, his identity is yet to be ascertained. Police have been informed, and further investigation is underway to ascertain how the youth came to possess the weapon and whether there is a larger network behind the incident.
