Subhadra Yojana: Second instalment to be disbursed in one phase

With the disbursement of the second tranche scheduled for March 8, it is projected that a total of Rs 5,000 crore will be provided to its beneficiaries.

The fifth phase of the first instalment of the Subhadra scheme was disbursed on Thursday and the second instalment of the scheme will be provided to all the eligible beneficiaries across Odisha on March 8, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida in a special programme in Berhampur on Thursday.

Financial Empowerment for Women 

As per reports, today financial aid was distributed to over 2,30,000 women, in the fifth phase disbursement of the first instalment of the scheme meant for women empowerment in the State. 

With the disbursement of the second tranche scheduled for March 8, it is projected that a total of Rs 5,000 crore will be provided to its beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Parida said, "Our aim is to create a new generation of financially independent women, the 'Lakhpati Didis'. We envision at least five women in each village achieving financial stability as entrepreneurs."

Celebrating Success with 'Subhadra Lamp' 

In a display of unity and achievement, Parida invited all beneficiaries to participate in lighting a 'Subhadra Lamp' on the evening of March 7. This symbolic act is intended to highlight the collective success of the initiative, which has now benefitted over one million women.

Rewards for Anganwadi Workers 

Acknowledging the role of Anganwadi workers in this achievement, the government will provide cash rewards of Rs 1,500 to Anganwadi workers and Rs 500 to their assistants.

"It's a great day for us as a total of 1.64 crore women in the State have been provided the first instalment under Subhadra scheme so far," said Deputy CM Parida.
