Today, on International Women's Day, millions of women across Odisha received their second installment under the ambitious Subhadra Yojana. CM Mohan Majhi disbursed over Rs 5,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 1.18 crore women beneficiaries in a special event held in Berhampur.

Timed to coincide with International Women's Day, the installment aims to reinforce the financial independence of women across the state. Each beneficiary has received up to Rs 5,000 as part of the second installment.

Eligibility and Future Payouts:

Now, the third installment of Subhadra Yojana will be credited directly on Raksha Bandhan. To be considered for this government's economic empowerment programme, applications must have been submitted by 31 March. Those who applied within the deadline will receive a consolidated sum of three instalments on Raksha Bandhan, a festival that celebrates the bond between siblings.

This fiscal initiative underscores Odisha government's commitment to women's economic security.

Financial Provisions and Additional Support:

A substantial sum of Rs 10,145 crore has been earmarked for the 2025-26 fiscal year, ensuring the sustained welfare of women beneficiaries. Furthermore, the Mohan Majhi government has designated Rs 153 crore specifically for the Subhadra Suraksha scheme, a complementary initiative enhancing women's safety and wellbeing.

The Subhadra and Subhadra Suraksha schemes showcase the government's dedication to fostering economic independence and security for women in Odisha.
