The second instalment of financial assistance under the Subhadra yojana will be disbursed to eligible persons in Odisha in March 2025. This distribution is expected to benefit around 1 crore beneficiaries throughout the State, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said on Wednesday.

Subhadra scheme aims to provide financial support to underprivileged sections of society, helping to alleviate some of the economic burdens faced by many families. The ambitious scheme has been instrumental in improving the livelihoods of needy households.

Distribution through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode to beneficiaries’ bank accounts will ensure that all qualified women receive their due assistance in a timely and efficient manner, emphasising the importance of reaching every part of the community.

The yojana that aimed to enhance the economic prospects of women has delivered its first instalment of Rs 5,000 to around 80 lakh beneficiaries in three phases. Under this programme, officials have geared up for the fourth phase transfer of the first instalment to beneficiaries by January 2025, Odisha government previously informed.

As of December 1, a total of 1,05,36,612 women have applied under the Subhadra scheme.

“All eligible beneficiaries, now in the rejection list, will be included in the upcoming fourth phase of the first instalment,” Deputy CM Pravati Parida had earlier said mediapersons.

“Government is committed to locating all the eligible beneficiaries, who have been rejected due to various reasons, and is adding them to the scheme,” the Deputy CM had added.
