Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Sunday announced that over 1.24 crore women will receive the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana on August 9.

Addressing a public gathering in Konark, Parida said the Odisha government is committed to empowering women through financial assistance.

She informed that while the disbursement will benefit 1.24 crore eligible women, around 1.88 lakh left-out beneficiaries will also be covered in a phased manner. Those found eligible before August 9 will be included in the scheme, she said.

In a significant clarification, the Deputy CM said that women filing zero income tax returns and those earning less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually will qualify for the scheme.

“Those earning above Rs 2.5 lakh or paying income tax will not be eligible,” she added.

Parida further said the government aims to ensure doorstep delivery of Subhadra funds even in remote areas like Kotia. A door-to-door survey will be conducted in Kotia so that no one is left out.

“I will visit Kotia and review Subhadra Yojana enrollment,” said Parida.

The Chief Minister is expected to distribute the third installment amount at a public event in Jeypore, Koraput, on August 9, she added.
