Stopped from talking on phone, woman attacks parents with vegetable cutter in Balasore

In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly left her parents critically injured by attacking them with a sharp weapon after they stopped her from talking on the phone. The incident was reported on Tuesday from Hatigadia village under Soro police station limits in Balasore district. 

The accused has been identified as Kuni Singh. She has been detained by police. 

According to sources, Kuni, who is married, fled from her in-laws' house and started staying with her parents-Ranjit Singh and Buduni Singh. Last night, Kuni was talking over the phone while skipping her dinner. Kuni’s mother asked her to stop talking and have dinner. As Buduni repeatedly asked her to hang up the phone, Kuni got furious. 

In a fit of rage, Kuni attacked her parents with a sharp weapon (vegetable chopper) leaving the duo critically injured.

Hearing the screams of the couple, the locals alerted the police. 

The police reached the spot and rushed the duo to Soro Hospital. As Ranjit’s condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Balasore Hospital for further treatment.  

The police have initiated a probe into the matter. 

“She was constantly talking over the phone. When her mother said that our younger daughter is better than her, she got furious and attacked us,” said Ranjit Singh.
