What People Say

Consumers say that they had not witnessed such a price hike of vegetables in Odisha in the past four to five years. The lack of production in local areas in the state can be attributed to poor harvest owing to extreme heat conditions prior to the onset of monsoon.

As a result, most of the vegetables are being imported from other parts of the country. Rain and other weather conditions in other states are attributed to the rise in the cost of vegetables.
