Joyous scenes featuring commemorative puja and rituals were witnessed in Salepur of Cuttack district to mark the 61st birthday of BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP, Baijayant Panda on Sunday.

Local youth organisations performed puja, lighted diyas (deep daan), and prayed for the well-being of the Parliamentarian at the famous Maa Saheswari temple in Salepur. Additionally, fruits were distributed to patients at the Salepur Community Health Center, showcasing a spirit of service and goodwill.

“Baijayant Panda has earned laurels across the globe and everyone in the country recognises his spirit of compassion and goodwill. To celebrate his birthday, we have planned to offer puja and help the needy,” said Sanatan Das, a BJP representative from the area.

Meanwhile, eminent leaders from across the country extended their wishes to the BJP leader on his birthday. Taking to the social media site X (formerly Twitter), Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed his warm greetings and wished “good health and long life” to Panda.

Similarly, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari wrote, “I pray to God for your good health, long life and happy life.” 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, “May you get a healthy, long, and glorious life by the grace of Lord Shri Jagannath” on X.

Wishing Panda on his birthday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a heartfelt note which read, “Conversations with him are always insightful and he is working hard to strengthen our party's base in Delhi.” 

Further, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida also extended their greetings wishing Panda a long life and prosperity.
