Two days after the reports of Tirtol MLA Bijay Shankar Das applying for marriage at the sub-registrar office in Cuttack surfaced, his rumoured girlfriend Somalika Dash on Saturday submitted an objection against the marriage application at the sub-registrar office in Cuttack.
“I have submitted my written complaint at the sub-registrar office. The same thing that he is going to do with the girl had happened to me eight months ago. I am yet to get justice. Considering the Sections used against him, he would have been arrested by now. But he is going to marry someone else. This is because of his political power,” Somalika said after filing her objection.
“Even though the case is sub-judice, the MLA has come to marry clandestinely. Is he going to settle his family after destroying a girl’s life? I came to know about his move from the media. Otherwise, I would have been doing rounds of court and police station and he would have been enjoying his married life. I want justice and nothing else,” she added.
“Since the time when my case was registered, the Jagatsinghpur police station has seen three IICs. Whoever joining the police station is asking me to get my statements recorded. How many times should I record my statement? On the other hand, he has been making mistakes after mistakes. Besides the signature, all the details he has furnished at the sub-registrar office are wrong. At the time when we had visited the sub registrar's office, he had mentioned his age as 30. This time too he has mentioned his age as 30. Is he not growing?” asked Somalika.
Somalika also raised questions on the 'Maa Ku Sanman' slogan of the Odisha government.
“The Chief Minister is crying for ‘respect to women’. Aren’t I a woman? What respect is being accorded to me?” asked a visibly upset Somlaika.
“I would like to say the police are harassing me. I am slipping into a state of depression. While the police are asking me to record my statements several times, he has not been called even once,” she said.
