The OPD (Outpatient Department) ticket of assassinated BJD leader Naba Das which surfaced recently has no mention of the treatment provided to the slain leader at the Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital (DHH).
A copy of the OPD ticket has been accessed by OTV.
Dismissed ASI Gopal Das opened fire at then-health minister Naba Das from close quarters at Gandhi Chowk in Brajarajnagar on January 29. The minister was immediately rushed to the Jharsuguda DHH and from there he was airlifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for better treatment.
Then, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jaynarayan Mishra had alleged that Naba Das had died on the spot after being shot in the chest by Gopal Das. Terming the airlift of the slain leader as a farce, he had said the state government enacted the drama of his treatment.
The allegation of the BJP has now been substantiated after the surface of the OPD ticket.
Usually, the OPD ticket bears all the details of the treatment provided to a patient. But in the case of Naba Das, the ticket has no mention of what treatments were provided to the leader after his admission. The ticket only mentions that the leader was admitted with a gunshot injury and he was referred to a higher centre for better treatment.
With the surface of the OPD ticket, suspense has further deepened as to why nothing about the treatment provided to Naba Das has been mentioned on the ticket.
When contacted over his mobile phone, CDMO of Jharsuguda DHH, Dr Dolamani Patel admitted that an OPD ticket should mention about the treatment provided to a patient.
“As per the rule, details regarding the treatment provided to sir (Naba Das) should have been mentioned on the OPD ticket. Since his condition was critical at that time, he was referred immediately after administration of first aid treatment. At that time, Dr Tandi and five other doctors attended to him. They mentioned everything on the referral card but didn’t write anything on the OPD ticket due to the shortage of time,” said Dr Patel.
Meanwhile, it has also come to the fore that Naba Das was admitted to the DHH at 12.15 pm and was shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Airport for his airlift to Bhubaneswar at 1 pm. It means he was at the DHH for 35 minutes. During this period, blood might have been transfused as he was bleeding profusely and treatments might have also been provided. So, the question now arising is why the OPD ticket is silent on these things.
