In a major tourism boost, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday announced that the state government will soon begin work on a "Shakti Corridor" connecting all major Shakti Peeths (seats of the Goddess) across the state.

The project is targeted to be completed within two years and will bring together temples such as Maa Tara Tarini, Maa Biraja, Maa Ugratara, Maa Bhagabati, Maa Mangala, Maa Kalijai, and Maa Bhairavi under a single spiritual circuit to promote pilgrimage, cultural heritage, and religious tourism.

The announcement was made by Deputy CM Parida during her visit to Maa Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam today, on the last Tuesday of the holy Chaitra month. She was accompanied by Law Minister Prithiraj Harichandan. After offering prayers at the temple, the dignitaries conducted a parikrama of the shrine and reviewed various ongoing development works in and around the temple.

Helicopter Service For Devotees

Addressing the media, Parida said that the Odisha government will soon formally announce the Shakti Corridor, which will create a comprehensive route for pilgrims and devotees to visit the major Shakti shrines of Odisha in a connected, well-facilitated manner. To further enhance accessibility, there are also plans to introduce helicopter services for devotees.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan confirmed that the Odisha government has set a target to make the Shakti Corridor operational within two years. Once completed, this corridor will provide a spiritual route for thousands of devotees from across India to perform rituals, pujas, and meditative practices at Odisha’s sacred Shakti shrines. The project also envisions boosting the cultural identity of Odisha as a land of divine feminine power and devotion.
