All the schools in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area will completely remain shut after 1 pm today i.e. November 29, 2024, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to Odisha for the DG-IG Conference in the capital city. 

The Mohan Majhi-led BJP government has decided that all schools, both government and private in BMC area will remain closed after 1 pm on Friday, owing to safety and security reasons.

PM Modi is scheduled to land in Odisha today- his third visit after the humongous win in the recently concluded General Elections 2024. Earlier, the PM had come to Odisha on his birthday to launch the Subhadra Yojana and also attend the swearing-in ceremony of Mohan Majhi.

This will be the third visit of PM Modi after the formation of BJP government. Huge traffic congestion is expected on roads with heavy security deployment for PM Modi’s arrival. Hence, in view of this, the state government has decided that all schools coming under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits will remain closed on November 29.

Meanwhile, a thick security blanket has been thrown around Bhubaneswar with the deployment of around 70 platoons of police force with around 300 officers monitoring the arrangements. Several areas in Bhubaneswar have also been declared ‘No Drone Zone/No Flying Zone’.
