Ongoing exams to continue

However, ongoing examinations will not be affected and will continue as per the pre-announced schedule. Students residing in hostels are permitted to stay. Additionally, Anganwadi centres operating between 7.00 AM and 8.30 AM will also remain closed. The Government has decided that food meant for Anganwadi children will be delivered to their homes.

“This order will not affect the pre-scheduled examinations and the exams will be conducted as usual. Besides, the Anganwadi centres running from 7.00 AM to 8.30 AM will remain closed until further orders. Mid-day meals will be provided to the respective beneficiaries at their doorsteps,” the Revenue Minister stated.

Stern action in case of violation

This directive applies to both government and private educational institutions. Any private institution found violating the order will face action. As per sources, if there is a drop in temperature, an order to reopen the institutions may be issued.

“Keeping in mind the rising temperature in different districts of Odisha, the Chief Minister had conducted a high-level review meeting in the evening. It was decided in the meeting that classes in all schools and colleges in the State will remain closed from tomorrow, until further orders. The official order will apply to all government and non-government schools and colleges across the State. However, hostel inmates can reside in the facilities if they so desire,” the Revenue Minister said.
