SC stays Orissa High Court order nullifying MLA Mohammed Moquim's 2019 election 

On March 4, 2024, the Orissa High Court annulled the election of the Congress leader for allegedly failing to furnish detailed information regarding criminal cases against him in an affidavit during the filing of nomination in 2019.

In a big relief to Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim, the Supreme Court has stayed the Orissa High Court’s order nullifying his election to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2019. 

While hearing a petition filed by BJD leader Debashish Samantaray, the Orissa High Court on March 4, 2024, annulled the election of the Congress leader for allegedly failing to furnish detailed information regarding criminal cases against him in an affidavit during the filing of nomination in 2019.
