BJP President JP Nadda on Friday constituted a four-member inquiry committee to probe the violence during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Sambalpur district.
The committee will visit Sambalpur and prepare a report based on facts that will be submitted to the BJP President for necessary action.
Releasing a press in this connection, BJP National General Secretary, Arun Singh wrote, “BJP President JP Nadda has expressed grief over the violence during Hauman Jayanti in Odisha’s Sambalpur. He has constituted a four-member inquiry committee to probe the violence.”
The four-member inquiry committee includes Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh Brij Lal; Samir Oraon, MP, Rajya Sabha, Jharkhand, Aditya Sahu, MP, Rajya Sabha, Jharkhand and Jyotirmay Singh Mahato, member of Lok Sabha from Purulia, West Bengal.
Earlier, BJP MPs and MLAs had written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an impartial investigation by the NIA into the violence. The elected representatives in the letter had stated that the violent attack on the bike rally was pre-planned and carried out by a particular community and demanded an impartial investigation by the NIA to unravel the conspiracy.
Meanwhile, the Sambalpur administration has relaxed the curfew and internet restrictions imposed in the district in the aftermath of the violence citing improvement in the overall situation.
Worth mentioning, the internet services were suspended as precautionary measures to ensure that no inflammatory messages or rumours were spread which would create more unrest in the region.
