Hundreds of saints with new idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on their way from Puri to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh halted at Dasapalla in Nayagarh on Monday. They will install the idols at a temple in the capital town of Madhya Pradesh.
According to sources, the saints from Bhopal reached Puri a few days ago to take new idols of the holy Trinity back to Bhopal. Six days ago, they set out on their padayatra with the idols. On the sixth day, after covering a distance of about 150 kilometres, they reached Dasapalla in Nayagarh district.
The members of the Sitaram Youth Club in Dasapalla gave the saints a warm welcome and made all arrangements for their stay on the premises of their club. On this occasion, spiritual programmes were organised. Devotional songs and ‘sankirtan’ programmes were also organised. After spending the night here, they will resume their journey the next morning.

To reach their destination, they still have to cover a distance of 1200 kilometres.
“We have already covered about 150 kilometres on foot. We have to cover 1200 kilometres more in the next 40 days,” said one of the saints.
A member of the Sitaram Youth Club, Trinath Sahu said, “They have covered the distance from Puri to Dasapalla in six days. It will take 40 days more for them to cover the rest 1200 kilometres. On reaching there, they will install the idols in a temple. We the members of Sitaram Youth Club extend our best wishes to the noble job they are doing.”
